TRM – Static Deformation Test Device for Lenses
The TRM device is designed to test the minimum robustness of optical filters, in compliance with ISO 12312-1:2022, using the test method defined in ISO 18526-3:2020.
It shows how much the lens flexes under pressure, helping gauge its resistance to stress and wear.
The test starts by placing the lens on a rigid support surface. A 250 ± 5 g pressure ring with a neoprene seating ring is positioned on the lens. A loading mass is then applied to generate a force of 100 ± 2 N on the surface.
Once the pressure is applied, the operator checks the lens for cracks, fractures, or signs of lasting deformation.
The TRM features a solid metal frame that prevents additional deformation during testing, along with a stable base to keep the device firmly in place throughout the procedure.
Key features:
- Even load distribution system for consistent 100 N force across the lens
- Secure mounting mechanism to hold the sample in position
- Protective shield to prevent accidental contact with moving parts
- Digital monitoring system for controlling the load descent speed and test duration
The TRM is a solid choice for manufacturers and labs that need reliable, repeatable results and compliance with international standards.
