ULT – Photometer

The ULT photometer measures how much light passes through a lens, known as transmittance.
It also checks how effectively the lens filters out specific wavelengths, such as UV and infrared light.

This tool is particularly valuable for lens and sunglasses manufacturers, making it easy to verify that lenses meet quality standards.

The test begins by positioning the lens face down on the measuring surface.
Once activated, the device sends a light beam through the lens. The light passes through the lens and is read by a built-in sensor.

The system processes the signal and displays the following values (in %):

  1. Transmittance at 400 nm (UV400)
  2. Transmittance in the visible range
  3. Transmittance at 950 nm (infrared light)

Using visible light data, it determines the lens’s RGB profile (red, green, blue) then translates them into CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates for color accuracy analysis.

All results are visualized on a PC interface via the software included. This makes the ULT a smart choice for labs and manufacturers that need reliable, detailed optical data.
